Dr. Tommie Zito
grew up in an
environment where
evangelism was the
norm. His father
was radically
converted and went
from an angry,
violent man who had
no understanding of
love, to a man who
spent hours a day
crying out for souls
and the harvest. His
father’s second point
of prayer was for his
son, Tommie, to be
used in a great way for the Gospel.
His father led the evangelism ministry at the local church, and young
Tommie would often accompany him as he witnessed to hundreds of people
he came across in his daily life.

Before getting married, Dr. Zito worked on a construction site on the
Jersey shore. There he met Frankie who would offer him a ride everyday
in his blue pick up truck. Even though he knew Jesus wanted him to
tell Frankie about who Jesus was and what He had done for him, young
Dr. Zito failed to find the courage or the words to do so. Frankie
died overdosing on drugs. This moment forever changed Dr. Zito as he
realized how crucial it was to share Christ.
This story is way too common in the church. Christians have friends,
relatives, co-workers, everyday that need to hear how much God loves
them and what Jesus did for them. People need to hear that there’s a
better way. That God has a plan for their lives. It was too late for
Frankie, but Dr. Zito is passionate about making sure Frankie’s tragic
story is not repeated.
Dr. Zito has developed a training series that helps equip and mobilize
the local churches to go after the lost. He brings a team of soul
winners with him so that people can get hands-on practical experience
sharing their faith, praying for the sick, and leading people in the
salvation prayer.
His plan is to raise up local evangelism teams, equip the saints,
offer clothing and food distribution, strengthen local churches and
disciple them in church growth plans to raise up the new convert. And
most importantly to implement strategic planning to ensure every
person in the city hears the Gospel.
Tommie has been married to his wife Kimberly for almost 30 years. They
have three beautiful daughters. Lucca, Romey, and Milana. They reside
in the Miami, Florida area of the United States.
“Look at the nations and watch and be utterly amazed. For I am going
to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you
were told.” Habakkuk 1:5 (NIV)
